2021 May Day Pairs

The annual May Day pairs was held on Saturday May 1st with a full card of 56 Bowlers from Clubs across the NT.

This event has been running for over forty years and this year the Darwin Club was lucky enough to have Grace Removals sponsor this inaugural event.

Those teams who had three wins across the day went through into a knockout Finals draw of 5 end games. A record seven teams won through to the Finals.

Julie Cadd & Jodie Reichstein were defeated by Barry & Colleen Orr for a place in the Semi’s against Catherine & Lee Farrell.  On the other side, Elisa Rigoni & Karen Lane defeated Tania Humphris & Anita Rhooke for a spot in Semi against Dimitri Hnaris & Mike Carmody who had defeated Pete De Greenlaw & Marty Miller in the quarters.

Dimitri Hnaris, Mike Carmody, and Catherine and Lee Farrell won their semi-finals to progress into the Grand Final.

In the Grand Final Dimitri Hnaris and Mike Carmody both from Darwin Bowls Club defeated Catherine and Lee Farrell from Nightcliff Bowls Club 8/3 in a result that came down to the last end!
